Using HK Materials on Your Web Site
Since the start of our Web site, we have received many inquiries concerning the use
of HK products on other Web sites. If you are interested in using book cover graphics
or excerpting material from our books, please contact our Publicity Department at
publicity@hkusa.com for
information.
When To Request Permission to Use HK Materials
- If you intend to use HK material for any purpose, you must make a request
in writing. Please refer to our Permission
Information Checklist for guidance on what information must be submitted to
our Permissions Editor. You may use our
online permissions request form or write to the Permissions Editor directly at
reteshat@hkusa.com. For
questions about translating products into other languages, please contact Patty
Rodriguez at pattyr@hkusa.com.
- If you intend to copy materials for use in a course packet or make multiple
copies for other classroom use, contact the Academic Permissions Service of
the Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. APS may be contacted by calling 978-750-8400
or faxing 978-750-4470. Their mailing address is: 222 Rosewood Drive, Danvers,
MA 01923.
Information for HK Authors
You need permission to use material you have authored for Human Kinetics. We require that
you inform us of your plans to use your material elsewhere. There is usually no problem in
granting the request and the fee is generally waived. However, we may deny a request to use
substantial portions of your HK work in a competing work from another publisher. Refer to
your contract for details or contact HK's Permissions Editor at
reteshat@hkusa.com.
Response Time for Permissions Requests
Normal turnaround time to process permissions requests is approximately two weeks.
